As a military member about to retire I bought this looking for good advice and maybe to use as a reference. It’s a waste of money. You can get the same info at your base family service center (or whatever each branch calls it) for free AND talk to a real person that will help you with questions. Do the leg work and save your cash.

Great book, very helpful.
Additionally, I like using [...] to look for jobs because it has jobs only from employer websites and far more jobs than you will find on other job boards. In this economic crisis, military jobs are considered to be the safest in terms of longevity (not to mention the nice retirement). So check out that website for additional help!

Although this book is a good source of information, I personally prefer using [...] to search for jobs because it lists jobs only from employer websites and has far more jobs than you will find on any other job boards. There is a wealth of information available for anyone with military experience who is know looking for a job in the civilian sector. I would recommend this to all my friends who are in the armed services.

Bradley-Morris, Inc. (BMI) commends Mr. Henderson for endeavoring to assist transitioning military. As the largest military to civilian placement firm, we have found that the most successful military job seekers who utilize our free services are the ones who appear that they are ready to make the transition to the civilian work force in their appearance, speech and dress.
However, we would quibble with this advice: “Stick to the firms that advertise in Army, Navy and Air Force Times…” We believe this advice is out of date. We also believe that no one should pay a fee for job seeker services. There are too many good free services available to military job seekers.
